Comment: UK electro-house specialist has channeled retro electronica with shuddering big massive grooves. Several minutes in, he samples Annie Lennox’s voice for the tune’s glorious climax. According to BBC Radio, The Eurythmics enjoyed this mash-up and said this mix could be released at some point in the distant future.
Grade: B+

The Editors – Papillon (Tiesto Remix)

Comment: The Editors have provided a sneak preview of their new single, which indicates the band’s shift toward the electronic dance scene. While their single is expected to be released in late September, DJ Tiesto has remixed this hot new track into a gargantuan beat-driven club thriller that is reminiscent of Dead or Alive’s You Spin Me Right Round.

Franz Ferdinand What She Came For (Lee Mortimer Remix)

Joy Division – She’s Lost Control (D. Ramirez Remix)
Comment: UK Techno guru Ramirez provides a minimalist techno tribute to Ian Curtis by channeling in Kraftworkian-like synths and drum loops, while retaining the song’s essential vocals. This future house classic makes dancing like a robot on the dance floor fun again.
