Liz Tramer is a published author who thinks she may have been born with a pen in her hand. She began writing as a form of expressing herself at a very early age, and received recognition and honors for her writing throughout her school years. She graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University and has written and edited for a variety of associations and charitable publications on topics ranging from AIDS awareness to public risk management to apartment leases.

Our esteemed “guest interviewer” sat down with Aaron and Liz to briefly discuss the new blog, Web site and their personal interests.

What was your most memorable interview with a celebrity?
A: My interview with great Karim Abdul-Jabbar was probably the most memorable one in my career. I interviewed him while promoting his new book and asked him a few questions about impact of Title IX in sports. The most difficult part of the interview is that I was involved with a very small news operation and had to conduct an interview without a functional tripod. Can you picture someone 5’8” in the ring with someone 6’10”? No? Well, I’ve been there, done that!
Favorite editorial story …
L: I’ve always been an avid reader and writer, so editing is a natural way to use both of my interests. I don’t think that people realize how humorous editing can be. I once had a client write about the noble and valiant “heroin” receiving an award. I agree; the candidate was noble, valiant and deserving of an award. However, she was not a drug user. She was a heroine! Also remember, if you are trying to get people to shop at your store … lamp chops won’t draw many customers.
What’s been your favorite concert in the last two years?
A: The Cure at the American Airlines Center in Dallas on June 2008. The crowd was treated to an eclectic set list that featured awesome remixed renditions of classic singles like A Forest, A Night Like This and Pictures of You! Robert Smith and Co. also performed three wicked encore performances of retro-material. What a night!
What are some of your personal interests?
A: I have remixed several of my favorite tracks under a secret dj alias. All I can say is that my Killers, Modest Mouse and MGMT bootlegs have received comments like “extraordinary,” “intriguing” and a “must-have addition to any remix collection.”
Favorite Movie?
A: Dead Poet Society
L: The Player
Favorite Band?
A: U2
L: Belle & Sebastian
Favorite DJ?
A: That’s a tough one. Probably Stuart Price (AKA…The Thin White Duke). He has done brilliant work for the Killers and Depeche Mode. Second Place, DJ Mog. His Killers bootlegs of Mr. Brightside and Human are stunning! P.S. If anyone can find any of his high quality remixed bootlegs, feel free to personally contact me.
